Comprehensive Safety Plan
California Education Code (EC) Section 32281(a) requires every kindergarten through grade twelve school, public and public charter, including community and court schools, to develop and maintain a CSSP designed to address campus risks, prepare for emergencies, and create a safe, secure learning environment for students and school personnel. Our Safety Plan is reviewed annually with the SSC committee.

Traffic Safety
Student safety is our priority during drop off and dismissal. In an effort to make sure that every child is safe coming to school and leaving school, we are asking our community to do the following during morning drop off and afternoon pick up times:
Drop off and Pick Up Procedures:
- Drop off your child early starting at 7:35 a.m.
- If driving, park in the neighborhood and walk your child to the entrances
- Or drop off/pick up curbside. Drivers stay in your car and continue to go straight, no U-Turns/3-point turns in the middle of the street!
- Students should be dropped off on the school side to avoid crossing the street. For students crossing the street, please use the crosswalk at the corner intersection and do not cross in the middle of the road.
The following traffic violations will be cited by San Diego Police:
- Illegal U-Turns
- Using the neighbor's driveway to make an illegal U-Turn or 3-point turn
- Double Parking
- Parking in loading zones
- Waiting/blocking red zones and driveways
- Jaywalking when vehicles are on the road and it is not safe to do so
If you are interested in working together to improve the safety of our school, we are always looking for adult volunteers to help. Traffic volunteers will work closely with Jones Staff to enhance safe ways for students to enter and exit school during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Our San Diego School Police will provide additional training and support so that we can work together as a school community to keep our children safe. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Jenna Greif at [email protected].
